        Fibre to the Premises (FTTP)
        Hybrid Fibre Coaxial (HFC)
        Fibre to the Node (FTTN)^
        Fibre to the Building (FTTB)^
        Fibre to the Curb (FTTC)^

         Additional information

Maximum wholesale speeds available on Fibre to the Node (FTTN) and Fibre to the Building (FTTB) connections will be between 25 and 100Mbps download and between 5 and 40Mbps upload. Maximum wholesale speeds available on Fibre to the Curb (FTTC) connections will be between 50 and 100Mbps download and between 20 and 40Mbps upload.

Where a wholesale speed tier is expressed as a range, these figures show the upper end of that range, which is the maximum theoretical wholesale speed for that speed tier on that access technology. However, the maximum theoretical wholesale speed for a specific premises may be significantly lower.

Service and Support business nbn Service Essential

        • 12 hours fault restoration times1
        • Flexible appointment times including after-hours.
        • Business- grade technicians
        • 24/7 onshore provider support

1 The fault restoration time assumes urban and limited rural areas, where no site visit is required. Fault rectification time may vary depending on the location of the premises.

*Regardless of the retail service you purchase, the actual maximum wholesale download speeds delivered to service providers will be less than 1Gbps due to nbn equipment and network limitations. Your experience, including the speeds actually achieved, depends on some factors outside our control (like customer equipment quality, software, and how your provider designs its network) and the nbn technology used for your connection.

    • 2 nbn® Ethernet prioritised voice and data options
      • Traffic class technology allows parts of your service to be prioritised over others, depending on what you primarily use your service for.

For example, suppose your business relies on a high volume of inward and outward calls rather than using the Internet. In that case, the network can recognise the type of data flowing through (e.g., phone calls) and prioritise this above Internet usage.

nbn® allocates three wholesale traffic classes (TCs) to RSPs: TC1, TC2, and TC4. RSPs then create business internet products using these traffic classes and sell them directly to you as an internet service.

Each TC has a different function:
        Features TC1 TC2 TC4
Primary purpose Supports voice services, specifically Voice over IP (VoIP) Provide access to high-performance data for applications and services that require consistent, predictable download and upload speed (video conferencing, network traffic over virtual private network (VPN), e-commerce and business-critical cloud services. General internet and standard data services. Business nbn® Plans are on TC4 technologies unless customised with your RSP to include TC1 and TC2 technologies, depending on your requirements.

        * Your experience, including the speeds actually achieved over the nbn network, depends on the technology over which services are delivered to your premises and some factors outside our control (like your equipment quality, software, signal quality, broadband plans and how your service provider designs its network). nbn is a provider of wholesale speeds to internet providers. nbn wholesale speed tiers available to your internet provider vary depending on the access technology in your area. business nbn is not available for nbn Fixed Wireless or Sky Muster satellite access network technologies.

    • 3 business nbn® Enterprise Ethernet
      • business nbn® Enterprise Ethernet+ is a premium fibre access network and is available to an estimated 1.5 million Australian business locations.

It provides business and government customers with affordable, superfast internet over a dedicated fibre network—which means it never slows down during peak periods. It offers symmetrical speeds from 10Mbps to close to 10Gbps^ and was built to support data-intensive businesses. Businesses can easily send and receive large files, participate in smooth video conferencing and access cloud-based services.

There are no nbn® up-front build costs for an estimated 90% of business locations within the nbn® network footprint. To check your address and find out how nbn® can help your business, visit their website.

Benefits of business nbn® Enterprise Ethernet:

        • Experience consistent, fast performance with network availability target of up to 99.95% to keep your business running.
        • Access equal upload and download speeds, even at peak times for enhanced experiences.
        • Choose from a range of bandwidth options for reliable connectivity that’s suited to your needs.
        • Fast, dedicated, and diverse fibre connectivity to all 121 nbn Points of Interconnect (POIs), removing the need for additional hops and minimising latency.

Click here for a deeper explanation of the benefits. To find out more on accessing Enterprise Ethernet, visit the business nbn® Enterprise Ethernet webpage.

+ business nbn Enterprise Ethernet is only available in the nbn Fixed Line network footprint and at limited premises served by the nbn Fixed Wireless and Satellite networks. Costs may apply; customers should contact their preferred service provider to ask about availability and any fees and charges that may be applicable.

^ Regardless of the bandwidth profile for the service you acquire from your service provider, it will operate at less than 10Gbps (or, in some circumstances, less than 1Gbps, if that bandwidth profile is acquired) because of normal equipment and network limitations. In addition, your experience, including the speeds actually achieved over the nbn network, depends on some factors outside our control (like your equipment quality, software, and how your service provider designs its network). If your service provider has not selected Class of Service High, speeds you experience may be affected by contention on the nbn network, particularly in busy periods.
