The Australian Government’s new interactive mapping tool lets you search for regional communications initiatives in your area.
The Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications, Sport and the Arts have launched a new interactive mapping tool that helps you visualise and explore information about regional communications grant programs.
The map includes key information on the:
• Mobile Black Spot Program (MBSP)
• Mobile Network Hardening Program (MNHP)
• Peri-Urban Mobile Program (PUMP)
• Regional Connectivity Program (RCP), and
• the Strengthening Telecommunications Against Natural Disasters (STAND) initiative. The map displays information layers like existing and new mobile base station locations, completion status of new sites, funded projects and coverage data from mobile network operators.
You can also view geographic and administrative boundary data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) and the Australian Electoral Commission, including information like local government areas, post codes, suburbs, Regional Development Australia boundaries and remoteness areas.
The map contains pre-set views for each of the regional programs. It also allows for sharing of a specific view you navigate to.
Information on the map will be updated quarterly and as programs reach major milestones.
