• Telstra Exiting CAN Radio and ADSL Services by 16 November 2027

    Telstra has announced they are exiting their CAN Radio (also known as HCRC) and ADSL services as part of a move from aging technology. Technology supporting these services is now more than 40 years old and no longer reliable or suitable for modern connectivity needs. Newer networks are more secure, easier to maintain and better equipped for reliability.

    Customers using these services will need to transition to more secure, resilient, and future-ready connectivity options before the exit date.

    These services still play an essential role in regional, rural and remote communities. Impacted customers will be contacted by Telstra in the coming months with further information about the service exit and the most suitable alternative to transfer across to for your property.

    Telstra are not exiting copper PSTN voice services. If you want to keep your phone service on copper PSTN, you’ll need to buy a standalone Home or Business Phone plan.
