• Connectivity is your second toolbox

If you work across regional, rural or remote Australia, you already know the deal. Your office isn’t a desk. It’s a vehicle, a paddock, or wherever the job takes you.

And none of it works without reliable connectivity.

From sending reports and processing payments to using GPS mapping and cloud systems, staying connected is what keeps your business moving. But regional mobile coverage isn’t the same as in the city.

You can have 4G or 5G and still struggle with speed. Towers get congested during busy periods like harvest or holidays. Coverage can drop out fast between towns. And when you’re on the move, switching between towers can mean patchy service or dropped calls.

    So what actually helps?

A few practical steps can make a big difference:

    • Use more than one network (dual SIM or different carriers)
    • Consider proper in-vehicle setups like antennas or routers
    • Have a backup option for remote areas, like satellite (e.g. Starlink)
    • Download maps and key files before you leave

The key point is simple: if you don’t have a connection, you don’t have access.

If your work takes you beyond metro areas, it’s worth checking whether your current setup is fit for purpose.
