With Australia’s data usage doubling in the past five years, NBN Co have focussed on increasing wholesale speed capabilities. From September 2025 it will be accelerating speeds on its three highest residential wholesale speed tiers.
The timing of when these upgrades will be offered to customers will be at the discretion of participating retail providers.

A new two gigabit per second Hyperfast wholesale speed tier will also be introduced. The new products will be available to customers connected to the nbn® via Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) and Hybrid Fibre Coaxial (HFC).
